Being Mommy- The Best Job in the World

I really love being a mom! Yesterday, Zaria and I had the time of our lives. It was our 1st Mommy/Daughter day of 2011. I started this for Zaria a few years ago when she was just 3 years old. We normally choose several things to do or places to go(just us). One of our favorite days was in 2006. We dressed in formal attire and had dinner at a popular downtown restaurant. Everyone thought we were going to a wedding. The highlight for Zaria was when a gentleman took his hat off and bowed. She said, "Why did he do that mommy?" I said, "Because you are a princess."

Yesterday, our day started with picking up a half dozen chocolate covered strawberries that I ordered for Zaria. Chocolate Strawberries are her favorite! We then went shopping. Bath and Body Works was our first stop. Zaria loves the smell of its Signature Collection. Black Raspberry Vanilla is the scent she picked. We then ventured to Fairlane Mall. Claire's is the store that she likes getting her jewelry. I bought her a pair of earrings and a necklace. We had lunch in the Food Court. She chose Taco Bell(another one of her favorite's). Afterwards, we watched MegaMind at the AMC Fairlane. We had so much fun.

I knew she had a good time but when she posted that it was the best time ever on Facebook, it confirmed it for me. I can't wait until next month. I really don't know what could top this:)

And then I get an email today that I am a nominee for Mommy of the Month with a popular Mommy Blog site. By the way, please vote for me at http://www.youngwifeandmom.com

Being a mom is probably the single most important and rewarding role in the world. I am soooo happy that I have the charge to care for such a beautiful princess.

Royalty Industries and The Princess Zaria Fan Club are launching three contests for children age 10 and under:

Children 10 and under are encouraged to enter The Name the Next Princess Series. As I'm in the process of writing my third book, I'm stuck on the title. The theme of the book is about Princess Zaria entering a school spelling bee. The entry with the winning title will receive a dedication in the book, a certificate and a variety of gift cards which will include one from Toys R Us. The contest is open to citizens of the United States only. Respond via email at www.princesszaria.com . Winner will be announced May 30, 2010.

I Love My Mom Contest

This is a Mother's Day Contest. Children age 10 and under will send a 250 word or more essay detailing why they love their mom. Boys and Girls may enter and explain what makes their mom special. Does she pack you a special lunch with love notes? Maybe she reads to you every night. The student with the winning essay will receive a gift certificate to Applebees along with a special surprise for mom. The contest is open to citizens of the United States only. Respond via email at www.princesszaria.com The Winner will be announced on April 25, 2010.

Just Like Mommy

Moms, have you ever noticed how your daughters want to be just like you? There's a book that I read to my daughter regularly(because it's one of her favorites) entitled 'Just Like Mommy.' The little girl in the book wants to wear dresses because her mom wears them to work. She wants to have her hair in curls because her mom does and she wants to drive a sports car when she grows up? Why? Because her mom does. This got me to thinking about my own little girl.

Zaria reads a lot of books because she sees me doing it. She has dozens of journals and diaries because she sees me writing all the time. She's beginning to ask can she stop wearing ponytails and braids because she wants to wear her hair down-Just Like Mommy. Zaria likes to help me in the kitchen because she sees me cook daily. I think the list is endless. She even contributed a chapter to an anthology written by students of Chrysler Elementary School. Why? Because it was a school project. LOL. And because her mom is an author, she was pleased to do it.

What are you doing that your little one will emulate? Is it positive or negative? Remember, they are watching.

Addicted to Mommy Blogs

Within the past few days I have been reading a lot of Mommy Blogs. There is also Daddy Blogs but since I'm a mom I am a little bias. These Mommy Blogs are all the rage. One mom has agreed to be my mentor in this blogosphere(If that's a word:) Check out the Mommy and Daddy Blog. There are so many others-just google mommy blogs to find a list.

My new blog is a little different because it's a mommy/daughter blog. Zaria will be sharing posts as well. Her first post is set for tonight after homework, of course. She is excited to write to everyone. I'm not sure if she will post about Hannah Montana or ICarly(Her 2 favorite shows) or maybe she'll talk about pizza which is her favorite food . Chinese food is next on the list and she has taken a liking to Sushi. Yuck! I just can't get with the taste or lack thereof.

I'm so excited about this venture. I guess it's because we'll be doing it together. We will review movies, products, and services. We will talk about school, exercise, icecream and more.

This is how it will go:
I will post one day
Zaria will post one day
We'll post together once a month.

If you have a product or service that you'd like us to review, let us know and we'll send you details on how to submit and our review guidelines. This is going to be fun. I'm as excited as The Real Princess Zaria.

In the meantime , check out my new book The Adventures of Princess Zaria and while you're at it join The Princess Zaria Fan Club.
